Skippers
Swim Lessons for children 6 months-5 years
Skip Class (Parent Child) Sessions B & C Only
Parent/Child Skip: This program is designed for children six months to three years and their parents. You will be introduced to basic skills that are developmentally appropriate for your child to get comfortable with the water and learn to swim.

Pike (Beginner level)
This level helps children develop safe pool behavior, adjust to the water, and develop independent movement in the water.
M/W 4:30 - 5:00 pm or T/TH 9:15 - 9:45 am or T/TH 6:00 - 6:30 pm
Eels (Intermediate level)
Reinforces Pike skills. It is for children who are comfortable in the water. They are taught to kick, float and perform the progressive paddle stroke.

Rays (Advanced level)
This level works on building endurance by swimming on their front and back and improving their stroke skills.
Ray/Starfish

School Age Lessons for ages 5-12
Polliwog (Beginner Level)
This is the beginner level for school-age children. This level gets children acquainted with the pool and the use of flotation devices.

Guppy (Beginner 2)
This level will practice and build upon basic skills, without the aid of a
floatation device. They are introduced to lead-up strokes to the front and back crawl, sidestroke, breaststroke, and elementary backstroke.

Minnow (Beginner 3)
Students will work on refining their front and back crawl, breaststroke, sidestroke and elementary backstroke.

Water Fitness
Water Exercise Classes: Members can choose from a variety of free classes that will challenge you and get you in the best shape of your life. Community Participants pay $8 per class. See the Land and Water Group Exercise Schedule for more classes and descriptions.
Joints In Motion: This program is designed specifically for those who suffer from arthritis or other forms of discomfort. This is a low key class, yet very beneficial as it increases flexibility and strengthens muscles. SilverSplash: Designed to enhance the quality of life and daily function by using the properties of water to enhance cardiovascular fitness, range of motion, agility, balance and coordination.
Membership and Program Scholarships:
No one will be denied participation in YMCA programs or membership because of inability to pay. The YMCA, with the help of the annual Strong Kids Campaign, provides scholarships or reduced cost memberships to low income or needy individuals or families. Applications are available at the Welcome Center Desk.
Credit/Refund/Transfer Policy:
Credit to a future program is available to cancellations prior to the start of the program. If you are dissatisfied with a program or class, please tell us so we can correct the problem. If the class is cancelled by the YMCA due to low enrollment, a full refund is available. To change classes, a $5.00 transfer fee will apply.
