You can help out anywhere. But you belong
at the YMCA.
Become a Volunteer
As
a YMCA volunteer, you can lead an exercise class, read to a preschool
class, coach a basketball team, cook for a bake sale, design a
program brochure, greet people at the Welcome Center, find items
for an auction, serve as a role model for young people, help out
in the office or at a special event, or be part of a group or committee
working on a neighborhood problem.
No matter how you help, you'll
make a big difference as you work with others to create a feeling
of connectedness in your community. Talk with any member of the
Freeman Family YMCA family about ways you can volunteer.
Become a Donor
Thank you to all of you who contributed to
the 2007 Annual Strong Kids Campaign. If you have not contributed
yet, but wish to do so, it is not too late. In 2007, the Strong
Kids Campaign raised just over $92,000 in financial assistance
funds to assure that no one is turned away from a YMCA program
because they can't afford to pay.
We count on our members and generous donors to help kids and families
who may otherwise not be able to participate in programs like day
camp and preschool. With donations, the Freeman Southwest Family
YMCA is able to provide kids with life-enriching activities and programs
that may not exist for them otherwise. Our lives will always be measured
by the lives we touch. Your contribution of time or financial support
is greatly appreicated.

SOUTHWEST FAMILY YMCA HERITAGE CLUB |
The mission of the Heritage Club is to enable men and women who
share the YMCA's ideals and traditions to ensure this valued heritage
continues for future generations.
The Heritage Club's purpose is to encourage thoughtful gifts as
a primary means of building a strong endowment capable of providing
lasting support for the YMCA' mission, and then to recognized members
whose leadership, service, and devotion to the YMCA have created
this heritage.
The
Freeman Southwest Family YMCA is committed to strengthening spirit,
mind and body of kids and families within your community. Your
endowment gift helps make your community a safe and healthy place
for children, families, teens and adults to live. Since this generous
gift is for now and the next generation, you are helping in perpetuating
the work of the YMCA.

Employee
YMCAs
build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.
So, naturally, Ys seek employees who exhibit the values behind
the mission (caring, honesty, respect and responsibility),
who enjoy people and want to make a difference.
The YMCA has long been synonymous with high standards and values in a supportive
team environment. Those who work at the Y will find the company itself offers
employees a generous wage and benefits package, and, depending on employment
status and tenure, such benefits as health and dental insurance, disability and
life insurance, funded retirement plan, time off and discounted program fees,
including childcare. Flexible work schedules and free YMCA memberships help keep
the whole family fit.
Discover the YMCA as a place to build a rewarding career and an enriched life.
The YMCA is an equal opportunity employer.

Make
a Difference
|
At the
Freeman Family YMCA, your time and talent go a long way whether
as a volunteer or as an employee.
Every hour you spend at a YMCA translates into the caring attention a child or
teen needs to grow up healthy and resilient. It translates into support for families
so they can be successful and strong. Into healthier lives for people of all
ages, backgrounds, abilities and incomes. Into a safer, more viable community
that's a good place to live and work.
To solve the problems
closest to home—or better
yet, prevent them—the Freeman Southwest Family YMCA needs more
people like you. |

We are blessed with a beautiful
building, but beyond "bricks and mortar" the YMCA
is a not-for-profit 501 C-3 charitable organization. We don't
turn people away if they have a substantial inability to
pay. In 2007, we raised just over $92,000 for scholarships.
In 2008 the need is greater. Our goal is $100,000. That money
helps provide scholarships for membership, child-care, and
youth programs. If
you are interested in helping out, contact the Welcome Center.
